CVEP and Partners to Award More Than $600,0000 in Scholarships to Coachella Valley Students at Eighth Annual Awards Ceremony on June 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Annenberg Health Science Center at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage

The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) and its partners will award more than $600,000 in scholarships to 150 college-bound Coachella Valley students on Friday, June 10, at the eighth annual Pathways to Success Scholarship Awards Ceremony. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Annenberg Health Science Center at Eisenhower Medical Center located at 39000 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.

“We congratulate our scholars and their families for being selected to receive a scholarship and thank our matching partners for their continued support,” says Ernie Rios, executive director of CVEP’s Pathways to Success scholarship program.  “In addition to financial aid for college, scholars also receive one-to-one college counseling and participate in the annual Student Leadership Conference.” The College of the Desert Alumni Association will also award scholarships at the June 10 event.

The scholarships recipients on June 10 represent about half of this year’s Pathways to Success scholars. This year, CVEP and its partners will award $1.3 million to more than 300 local students. Pathways to Success program is a regional collaborative of scholarship granting organizations focused on college access and completion initiatives outlined in the Regional Plan for College and Career Readiness.

“Our goal is to increase the number of students pursuing a college education and to employ them upon graduation, as part of our broader economic development strategies,” says CVEP CEO Joe Wallace.
