ShareKitchen is celebrating the 2014 holiday season reflecting on the spirit of giving, sharing and growing we’ve enjoyed over this past year. We are honored and humbled to have been a part of so many wonderful experiences and events and would like to take a moment to reminisce and recognize some of the great people and organizations we’ve grown with over the year:

Two Guys and a Jersey Girl – Lauren Geller, Larry Goldberg and Chef Eric Theiss who organized the season’s freshest fundraisers benefitting the sustainability garden at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. This group of hospitality professionals raised over $15,000 to support and educate the clients of CVRM and ShareKitchen with their “Farm to Fork – Fork to Farm” dinner series featuring Chef Raul Garcia of Lavender Bistro, Chef Michael from the Renaissance of Long Beach, Chef Gregorio Calderin of Sirocco, Chef Andie Hubka of Cork & Fork, Chef Eric Pamperin of CVRM and Chef Sherry of Desert Cities Catering. These Chefs donated their time, staff and talents to create intimate evenings with locally sourced ingredients donated by local vendors like County Line Harvest and Epic Wines. A special thank you to all of the guests who attended and generously supported this series.

Humana Healthy Fun Fair in La Quinta – ShareKitchen and Green Acres teamed up to teach kids of all ages “Where Food Comes From” at our interactive planting booth sponsored by Moller’s Garden Center in Palm Desert. Residents from across the Coachella Valley learned that food comes from dirt (and seeds, water and sunshine) as they got their hands dirty planting in hundreds of fiber pots provided by Moller’s.

The Art of Real Food – A Farm to Fork Evening sponsored by The Palm Springs Cultural Center, the Certified Farmers’ Market, ShareKitchen, local farmers and food artisans. We are grateful to Joanne Neft and Laura Kenney for sharing their stories during an enlightening evening of fun and fundraising for local food.
