Born in Bronx, New York, John Paul spent his teen years in Hastings, Florida before signing a contract to become a Marine stationed in 29 palms, CA. John would frequent the night clubs in his free time in search of some good music to dance to. After finishing his contract with the USMC in 2002, John settled in the Coachella Valley full-time and continued to hit the club scene watching and listening to the DJs behind the music.

Just a short year ago, John describes how he decided to become a DJ; “I was at a night club and just wasn’t getting the vibe from the music that I wanted so I felt I should change that. I did some research on equipment, bought some and haven’t looked back since. Once I got behind the turntables for the first time, I knew I was meant to be there!” John’s real last name is Sessions but after going through a process of elimination, decided to use Paul, which is his middle name.

Having been an avid dancer for years, John implements that perspective when programming his dance floor music. “I don’t just hear and play music, I feel it!” John says. “Knowing that I can express myself through the music with everybody, there’s no better feeling for me!” he adds with excitement. While his favorite genres of music to play are Hip-Hop, R&B, and Dancehall, John can play it all.
John has learned a lot in the last 12 months, including the challenge of trying to make everyone on the dance floor happy. His main goal is to leave everyone with a smile on their faces at the end of the night. In addition to mobile gigs, his skills have opened the doors for him to frequently spin in bars and nightclubs both in and outside the Valley. He’s a house favorite at the Village Pub in Palm Springs and recently performed at “Club Bounce” in Riverside for New Year’s Eve.

When he’s not spinning music for live crowds, you can also hear John entertaining audiences with his online radio show every Thursday from 10am-12pm on www.blazemupradio.com. John enjoys the flexibility of being able to travel around but his aspirations are to eventually settle in as a resident DJ at a hot spot here in the Coachella Valley. His plans don’t stop there; this ambitious DJ wants to share his feelings of music throughout the world as one of the best in the industry. “The doors keep opening and I’m not hesitating to get through them!” John exclaims about his future.
