With sales of over 60 million albums worldwide, Alanis Morissette is one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians in contemporary music. Her deeply expressive performances have earned vast critical praise and 7 Grammy Awards, and she’s bringing her huge catalog of hits to The Special Events Center at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Saturday, September 16th.

Morissette began her career in Canada in the early 1990s with two commercially successful dance-pop albums. Afterwards, she moved to Los Angeles and in 1995 released Jagged Little Pill, a more rock-oriented album that sold more than 33 million units globally and is her most critically acclaimed work. After the success of the scathing first single “You Oughta Know,” the album’s other hit singles helped send Jagged Little Pill to the top of the charts. “All I Really Want” and “Hand in My Pocket” followed, but the fourth U.S. single, “Ironic,” became Morissette’s biggest hit. “You Learn” and “Head Over Feet,” the fifth and sixth singles, respectively, kept Jagged Little Pill in the top twenty on the Billboard 200 albums chart for more than a year.

Follow-up albums like the introspective Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie with its hit single “Thank U,” Under Rug Swept with the single “Hands Clean,” and the recent Havoc and Bright Lights cemented Morissette’s reputation as the standard bearer of alternative rock. Morissette has also acted in movies and on television with roles in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dogma, Sex and the City, Weeds, and Up All Night, and has appeared as a celebrity guest mentor on The Voice.

Outside of entertainment, Alanis is a dedicated advocate of female empowerment, spiritual, psychological, and physical wellness, and the advancement of children’s education. Her podcast, Conversations with Alanis Morissette, features discussions with leaders from different philosophies and of varied psychological, neurobiological and developmental models and backgrounds, all with an eye toward healing and wholeness and recovery.
