How exciting for Artists, Art Collectors, & Art Lovers to have our newest avant-garde gallery opening here in Greater Palm Springs:  Leslie Jean Porter Gallery!  Leslie is a French Artist, Photographer & Filmmaker — she is also an Award-winning Producer, Director, & Writer.  She deservedly can be called a modern-day Renaissance Woman!  Sophisticated, Intelligent, Gifted, Creative and Beautiful!  Everything she touches is spectacular and now she has turned her Passion & Talent toward bringing Fabulous Art to the Desert.  LJP Gallery is unique in Coachella Valley — in addition to exciting Monthly Exhibits, and a Boutique with unique Art-related gifts, the Gallery offers a 2700 SF building for Events and wall rental by Artists, as well as Art Contests.

The Grand Opening of the Leslie Jean Porter Gallery is this Thursday, October 23, 2014. Leslie has chosen an Aviation theme:  “An Aviation Collection and Aeronautics Series Exhibition”.  Leslie’s own hauntingly beautiful & ethereal paintings combine the themes of lost love & airplanes leaving:  “Inspired by broken love between a Parisian Artist and a Pilot, this amazing series tells the story of an unfulfilled relationship, mistrust, lost romance, and great love…love that can, unexpectedly, crash like an airplane…Paintings these paintings comforted me during the roller coaster of emotions I experienced through lost love.  They took me on a fantastic voyage of exploring, discovering & finding new ground, which is exactly what flying is…Touch-and-go, but exhilarating.”

Mario Pikus, Painter & Sculptor, will be exhibiting iconic Sculptures made from discarded Airplane & Harley parts, including “Soft Landing”, “Palm Springs – Color & Form” and “I am an Alien”.  Gary Kott will feature his new mixed media airplane sculpture:  “Air Force 31”.  The show will also include other Artists, Photography, & Airplane Memorabilia.  The Chamber of Commerce will have a Ribbon-Cutting in honor of the new Gallery at 5:00pm.  The event then continues with Airplane Videos, a Runway & Runway “lights”, Airplane Music, live “Stewardesses”, and the Pilots Lounge!  Refreshments & drinks will be provided.
