The Friends Pet Project was created because we felt people shouldn’t have to lose their pets, because they have fallen on hard times. For many homebound seniors and people who are disabled, the cost of providing food for their pets is impossible and many share their own food with their pets. Often these pets are surrendered to the shelter.

Our mission is simple: we believe that people and pets should stay together. For many elderly or impoverished people, pets are their only family. A companion pet provides unconditional love and comfort and can be essential to our own health and happiness.

Thanks to compassionate donors and our army of volunteers we now have the only dedicated Pet Food Bank in the Coachella Valley. Every month we help feed the beloved pets of the most fragile members in our community.

The Friends Pet Project Pet Food Bank continues to grow and we need your help. To make a donation please visit our website: psanimalshelter.org. We accept donations of food at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter located at 4525 E Mesquite Ave, Palm Springs, CA 92264. We also now have our Wish List on Amazon. We are a 501 (cX3) non-profit organization and we thank-you for your support!
