Residents of the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas are invited to join me and my Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate team at the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Civic Center Park in Palm Desert. As a proud member of the Walk committee this year, I am thrilled to be part of this important event that raises awareness and funds to help fight Alzheimer’s disease. The walk will take place on Saturday October 26, 2024, and I encourage everyone to come out and support this vital cause, whether you plan to walk or simply cheer us on.

Festivities begin at 8 a.m., and even if you’re not walking, there’s plenty to enjoy. We are excited to have Jeff Stahl from KESQ as our event MC. Entertainment will include the Coachella Valley High School drum line and the spirited Pomettes from Sun City Shadow Hills, ensuring a lively atmosphere for all. We are also incredibly grateful for the help of volunteers from local high school health academies and the National Charity League Desert Cities, whose contributions make this event possible.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Not only does it raise crucial funds, but it also brings the community together to support families affected by Alzheimer’s.

A touching moment of the event will be the Promise Garden ceremony, where walkers carry flowers of different colors representing their personal connection to the disease—whether walking in memory of a loved one, as a caregiver, or with hope for a future cure.

With nearly 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s, including more than 719,000 in California, this event offers a meaningful way for the community to support the 11 million caregivers nationwide.
