May is Mental Health Awareness Month

The community is invited to experience a transformative day of connection, learning, and wellness at a special healing-focused event at the Palm Springs Cultural Center on May 2, 2026.  Organized by Convergence Healing and taking place from 12 noon to 7 p.m., this gathering will bring together respected local practitioners, spiritual leaders, and wellness professionals to share practical tools and meaningful conversations centered on holistic wellbeing.

The day begins at noon with a meet-and-greet, where guests can socialize and enjoy a fresh lunch from a local farmers’ market before the program begins. Throughout the day, attendees will participate in engaging discussions, demonstrations, and interactive experiences led by experts dedicated to supporting wellbeing.

The keynote presentation, “The Importance of Healing Physically, Mentally and Spiritually,” will be delivered by wellness expert and Convergence Healing Founder Peter Bedard, setting the stage for an afternoon of reflection and discovery.

Event Highlights Include:

Healing Through the Body (1:00 – 2:00 PM)
A conversation on physical healing and the body’s deeper connection to wellbeing, moderated by NBC Palm Springs Thalia Hayden, with panelists Eva Alvarez, Wendy Ansley, and Aida Johnson-Rapp. The session will conclude with a yoga technique demonstration led by Ansley and students from College of the Desert.

Healing Through the Mind (2:15 – 3:15 PM)
A discussion focused on mindfulness, mental health, and emotional wellbeing moderated by Corey Roskin. Panelists include Dr. Karyl Ketchum, Dr. Douglas Sadownick, and Hail Wiggins. The session will conclude with a demonstration of Laughter Yoga led by Adry Rubio.

Healing Through the Spirit (3:30 – 4:30 PM)
Spiritual leaders will discuss the joy and importance of spiritual practice in everyday life. The conversation will be moderated by City of Palm Springs Councilmember Grace Garner and feature Perry Lang, Rabbi Adina Allen, and Shelley Karpaty. Attendees will also learn how to create their own personal mantra or chant.

Healing Through the Death Experience (4:45 – 5:45 PM)
A compassionate and thoughtful discussion about end-of-life experiences and approaching life’s next chapter with love and support. The panel will be moderated by Craig Liebelt and feature Glendon M. Geikie, Kara Hoppe, and Ron Smith.

The day will conclude with a relaxing and immersive Sound Bath experience from 6:00 – 7:00 PM led by sound healer Katt Adkins.
