Somewhere between Linda Ronstadt and Mary Chapin Carpenter stands Alice Wallace. The singer-songwriter, who currently makes her home in Nashville, Tennessee, will be playing MAS o MENOS in Joshua Tree on Saturday, June 7th.
Although she was born in California, Alice was raised in Florida. Her parents were both musical and she grew up listening to them both strum their acoustic guitars. Under their influence, she absorbed a surfeit of West Coast ‘70s Rock.
Returning to California in her ‘20s, she began pursuing a music career full-time. Her debut, Sweet Madness arrived in 2011, followed closely by A Thousand Miles From Home, Memories, Music And Pride and Into The Blue. In 2021 she collaborated with fellow singer-songwriter Caitlin Cannon as Side Pony, releasing their Lucky Break album. She has since relocated to Nashville.
Her latest effort, Here I Am, exudes a quiet confidence. From the burnished grace of “Imposter” and the high lonesome lament of “I Was Wrong” to the tender heartbreak of “Fireflies” and the down-home grit of “Letting It Go.”
