Atria Palm Desert is proud to partner with LifeStream Blood Bank to host an important community blood drive on Wednesday, September 17, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at 44300 San Pascual, Palm Desert. This event provides a meaningful opportunity for residents to give the gift of life and support patients in need across the region.

Blood donations are critically important. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood, and one pint can save up to three lives. Despite this urgent need, less than 10% of eligible Americans donate each year, even though 38% of the population qualifies. Much of today’s medical care—including treatments for cancer patients, premature infants, anemic individuals, and those undergoing major surgeries—depends on a steady supply of healthy donors. There is no substitute for human blood, making every donation essential.

Unfortunately, many myths keep people from donating. Common misconceptions include beliefs that giving blood is painful, causes weight gain, or that others are already donating enough. In reality, most people feel only a slight pinch when the needle enters, and donating blood actually burns calories as the body replenishes what is given. Only 4% of the eligible population donates, which means every new donor makes a tremendous impact.

LifeStream Blood Bank works hard to ensure a steady blood supply, but shortages often occur during the summer and winter holidays. Donating at events like this blood drive helps prevent these shortages and ensures patients always have the blood they need.

Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling 800.879.4484, visiting lstream.org/cityofpalmdesert, or scanning the QR code on the flyer. As a thank-you, every donor will earn points that can be redeemed for LifeStream-branded items, prepaid Mastercards, and more.

Join your neighbors at Atria Palm Desert on September 17 to make a lifesaving difference. Giving blood is safe, quick, and one of the most powerful ways to give back to the community.
