The City of Indio invites the community to gather for a joyful night of holiday celebration at the annual Indio Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5-10 p.m. in Downtown Indio.
This free community event will feature food trucks, toy giveaways, a free kids’ zone, and complimentary photos with Santa. Families can also look forward to a special bike raffle that gives children an exciting chance to take home a brand-new set of wheels for the holiday season. The family-friendly festivities will take place at the corner of Bliss Avenue and Towne Street.
“The Indio Tree Lighting Ceremony is one of Indio’s most cherished holiday traditions,” said Mayor Glenn Miller. “It brings our community together in the spirit of hope and joy and I encourage everyone to join us as we welcome the holiday season and celebrate what makes Indio such a special place.”
The Indio Tree Lighting Ceremony is free and open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring family and friends to enjoy an evening that highlights community and the magic of the holidays.
The celebration continues all weekend long as the Indio International Tamale Festival returns to Miles Avenue Park on December 6 and 7 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. each day. Attendees can enjoy delicious tamales, live entertainment, and family activities as one of the region’s most beloved festivals fills Miles Avenue Park with flavor and fun.
