
Viewing events at over a dozen locations for the FIFA World Cup Soccer Championship weekend, along with family-friendly activities
The Shops at Palm Desert, in partnership with the City of Palm Desert, is inviting residents and visitors to come together for a fun and free community celebration of one of the world’s biggest soccer matches – the Bronze Match and the Championship Match – for the “Palm Desert Community Soccer Watch Weekend” on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, 2026.
As the grand finale of the City’s “Discover What’s Next” summer campaign, the two-day event will bring soccer fans of all ages together to watch the tournament’s final two matches in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. Soccer fans will have plenty of opportunities to experience the excitement of FIFA throughout the city with a wide variety of local restaurants, breweries, sports bars, and neighborhood gathering spots showing matches during the tournament.
“Our ‘Discover What’s Next’ campaign has been about encouraging people to experience everything Palm Desert has to offer,” said Palm Desert Mayor Evan Trubee. “This championship weekend is a perfect finale—bringing our community together, celebrating our local businesses, and giving residents and visitors another great reason to discover Palm Desert.”
In the heart of Palm Desert, a perfect family fun watch party will take place at the Main Court at The Shops at Palm Desert, located at 72840 Highway 111, where attendees can experience the excitement on a large community viewing screen while enjoying a kids craft and hangout zone, an Instagram photo contest with fans wearing their favorite team’s colors, and gift basket giveaways throughout the weekend. On Saturday, July 18, check-in for the Bronze Match is at 1 p.m., with the match at 2 p.m. On Sunday, July 19, the Championship Match check-in is at 11 a.m., with the game beginning at 12 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with additional standing-room and upper-level viewing areas available throughout the venue. There will be branded giveaway items and bottled water for registered guests who check in, while supplies last.
