Saturday, April 6 at Emerald RV Resort in Palm Desert- 2:30-10:00pm
I would like to thank all of our loyal readers who have supported us as well as new readers who are just discovering us. The response that CV Weekly has received over the last year has been overwhelmingly good.
When I started this paper, I wanted it to have something in it for everyone to read and enjoy. That has only been possible with the amazing team of columnists and feature writers that I have been fortunate to have with me from the beginning. We have also added a few new columns/features in the last few months such as; Education, Comedy, Road Trippin’ and the return of Trivia. I am excited to announce that we will be introducing a Real Estate column next week written by Bruce Cathcart and a Fashion column which will be written by a revolving group of writers. We will also be expanding our Health, Fitness & Beauty column to include more of the medical field. We will also be covering more in depth newsworthy stories. Our goal at CV Weekly is to continue to grow and be YOUR paper. Please send any comments or suggestions to editor@coachellavalleyweekly.com.
So what is an anniversary without a party? CV Weekly plans to do it up right and everyone is invited to help us celebrate. On Saturday, April 6 we will host two events in one at Emerald RV Resort at 76-000 Frank Sinatra Dr. in Palm Desert.
Over the last 4 weeks valley residents have been able to vote for their favorites in 67 categories on our website. Voting ended last Friday and the votes have been tallied. The winners will be announced at CV Weekly’s Best of the CV 2013 Awards show on Saturday, April 6.
The Awards show part of the event will begin at 2:30pm with an appetizer lunch provided by Sullivan’s Steakhouse and the Awards beginning promptly at 3:00pm. In between awards being announced and given out we will have a plethora of amazing talent performing for you including musical nominees; Josh Heinz, Michael Keeth, Giselle Woo, Mighty Delta-Tones and featuring Felix Nobody & Notepad, who just recently made it into the Top 10 for the Tachevah Festival.
Then following the Awards from 5:30-6:30 Giuseppe’s Italian restaurant will provide a hot buffet dinner while the incomparable John Stanley King (nominated in 5 categories) provides music and dancing on the huge dance floor.
At 7:00pm the Anniversary Party portion of the night will begin with desert legend rock bands Dali’s Llama (nominated for Best Rock Band, Best Band & Male Vocalist), Half Astro (nominated Best Punk Band) and Yawning Man (Gary Arce, Alfredo Hernandez & Mario Lalli). The party ends at 10:00pm.
The price of admission is $25.00 at the door and includes everything; 2 meals, entertainment and a hosted bar courtesy of CV Weekly and sponsored by Babe’s Brewhouse, Tulip Hill Winery and Crater Lake Vodka & Gin cocktails. You can reserve a VIP table of 8 for 200.00 in advance by calling 760-501-6228. VIP tables are almost sold out.
This promises to be an event you will still be talking about long after. Come join the celebration.
