We will not be learning how to paint “people, places, and things,” but rather focus on our interior landscape, and attempt to capture what is not always seen but sensed, “in the ether” all around us. Students will learn to see with more than just our eyes, and also how the basic building blocks of painting—color, form, and texture, can be utilized to create a spiritual atmosphere in one’s work. Specific pieces on display in the museum will be discussed and serve as jumping-off points, as well as a lecture by the artist about his own painting practice.
