PARTICIPATING ARTIST: Dana Flores, Los Angeles-based sculptural jewelry and ceramic artist, crafts pieces that echo the raw beauty of nature. Recent exhibitions include 2022 Efflorescence Slate Grey Gallery, Telluride Colorado, Bloom Telluride Fine Arts Gallery, Telluride, Colorado, Elements of Earth Anza Borrego Art Institute, Anza Borrego, California (2022), Padua Art Festival curated by The Claremont Museum of Fine Art Claremont, California (2021), and Vessel curated by Eva Chimento, Telluride Fine Arts Gallery, Telluride, Colorado (j2020). Ko Kawashima, Founder Altruistic Polypreneur, recently wrote about Flores work, “To encounter the sculptural work of Dana Flores is to enter a portal—one that folds time, place, and spirit into an exquisite fossil of feeling. Her pieces do not simply exist as objects of form and material; they thrum with the memory of earth, the echo of the feminine divine, and the slow-blooming silence of transformation. There is a primordial femininity to Flores’s oeuvre. The Femme Fleur series, with its bronze stamens and earthy contours, pulses with the sacred vulnerability of opening—of becoming fully seen, fully formed, and fully fluid. Other pieces, like Prehistoric Earthly Elements or Out of the Ashes, feel unearthed rather than made, as though they have always existed underground, waiting for someone with Flores’s sensibility to excavate them from myth and memory.” Artier aims to break barriers in the art world of today.
