I have known Esjay Jones for many years now on many levels as a music producer, business woman, and as my personal friend. She is an incredible woman on all accounts.
Recently I had the chance to sit with Esjay and pick her very talented brain about several things: Her music, Producing multiple artists, and now, as the Brainchild and Co-Founder of the tasty non-alcoholic beer KittiePig.
CVW: Can you share with our readers a little about your music background for those who might not yet know you?
Esjay: “I’m a South African-born producer, songwriter and artist with over 25 years in the music industry now living in Yucca Valley! I started out in a rock band called Stealing Love Jones, which had a great run, including opening for major acts like Fall Out Boy and One Republic. After relocating to the U.S., I transitioned into music production and songwriting, working with artists across genres, from rock and hip-hop to pop and electronic. Some of my most recognized work includes collaborations with artists like Alien Ant Farm, Krewella, and Sean Kingston. I’m also known for my work developing up-and-coming artists and helping shape their sound.”
CVW: Musically, what projects are you working on now?
Esjay: “Right now, I’m working on a few exciting projects, including producing and developing new music for Miss Velvet, an out-of-this-world artist with a powerhouse voice. I’m also continuing my work in artist development and music production for various artists, while always keeping my ear open for fresh and innovative collaborations.”

CVW: What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?
Esjay: “There have been so many, but a few standouts include working with Alien Ant Farm on new material, producing new tracks with makeup mogul Jeffree Star, and collaborating with legends like Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins). One of the most meaningful projects I’ve had the honor of working on was the Chester Bennington Grey Daze project, helping bring his early music back to life and preserving his legacy. Every project has its own unique energy, and I love diving into different creative spaces to bring something special to life.”
CVW: Are you performing live anywhere in the near future?

Esjay: “Right now, my focus is more on the production and songwriting side, but I’m always open to jumping on stage when the right opportunity comes up. I’ve been deep in the studio with various artists, so let’s see what the rest of the year brings! “
CVW: Now let’s talk about your newest endeavor, KittiePIG non-alcoholic beer. What is your role/title? And how did this venture come about? Please give as many details and info as possible.
Esjay: “I’m the brainchild and co-founder of KittiePIG, serving as the Chief Operating Officer. This venture came from years of being immersed in the music industry—touring, producing and being surrounded by a culture where alcohol is everywhere. But not everyone drinks, and the options for a non-alcoholic beer that actually fits into alternative and heavy music culture were basically nonexistent.”
KittiePIG isn’t just another NA beer – it was designed to represent the same rebellious, independent spirit that drives rock, punk, and metal. From the bold design of the can to the unapologetic attitude behind the brand, it stands for those who live loud, push boundaries and challenge the norm. We’ve already sold out online twice, expanded into 50+ stores and have been making our mark at festivals and events where the demand is real.
At the end of the day, KittiePIG is about choice – giving people a non-alcoholic option that doesn’t compromise on quality, taste or identity.”
CVW: Where are you located, and how can people get their hands on KittiePIG?
Esjay: “Right now, we’re available in 50+ stores and have an online presence that allows people to order directly. We’ve been expanding rapidly, and we’re working on bringing KittiePIG to even more major retailers. You can check our website and grab it directly from AMAZON for next day shipping!”
CVW: Tell us about an average day in the life of Esjay?
Esjay: “No two days are ever the same! Some days, I’m in the studio for hours producing and writing music, while others are spent in meetings and strategizing for KittiePIG’s growth. Mornings usually start with coffee and catching up on emails, followed by studio sessions, business calls and sometimes heading to an event or networking with artists and entrepreneurs. There’s always a lot of movement, but I thrive on the mix of creativity and business.”
CVW: Is there anything else you would like to share?
Esjay: “Just a huge thank you to everyone who has supported KittiePIG thus far! I’m always looking for ways to push boundaries, whether in sound or business and I love connecting with like-minded people. Stay tuned for what’s next – it’s going to be a ride!”
