The band is proud to announce they have released its new album, Sonic Mojo, on Foghat Records.
Sonic Mojo is Foghat’s highly anticipated and long-awaited 17th studio album—their first in seven years–on the band’s label, Foghat Records, which is distributed by Select-O-Hits (part of the Sun Records family).
The album spent over six months on the Billboard Blues charts – for much of that time in the #1 spot. It also charted for a lengthy spell on the Roots Rock charts in both the U.S. and the U.K. It’s getting rave reviews from both critics and fans.
Sonic Mojo has also been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category. This is the band’s first Grammy nomination in their esteemed career. Link: https://Fyconline.com/foghat
Foghat, who celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021, are the undisputed Kings of Boogie Rock. They have been a mainstay on the music scene since first forming in London in 1971. The band’s unique mix of blues, hard rock, boogie and its signature use of slide guitar has earned the band eight gold records, one platinum album and one double platinum record.
Many of their classic hits are still mainstays on classic rock radio years after their release including Fool for the City, I Just Want to Make Love to You, Drivin’ Wheel, Stone Blue and, of course, the band’s signature hit, Slow Ride.
They’ve released over 20 albums over the years, most all of which feature the band’s unrelenting in-your-face hard rock crunch mixed with the blues, a genre of music the band remains passionate about to this day. They continue to tour non-stop, to the delight of both longtime fans and a younger generation of concertgoers who appreciate and enjoy the band’s music and legacy.
Roger Earl, who has lived in Long Island NY for many years, was inducted into the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame in May 2023.
