Owners Rigo and Cecilia Garcia know the restaurant business. As teenager, they worked in local Mexican restaurants performing every essential job from cleaning, serving, cooking, and hosting. They are related to many of the staff which helps create an enthusiastic family atmosphere. They cater to both the spice-challenged and hard-core picante crowd. Let the server know the desired level of heat in your dishes. You won’t find the same array of nose-to-tail dishes you would at the Cardena’s Grocery lunch counter, but you will find fresh house-made mole, tomatillo, and fiery molcajete sauces bathing your favorite entrees.
The menu covers the usual fajitas, tacos, shrimp cocktail, enchiladas, burritos, rellenos, flautas, tostadas, and dinner salads with meat choices including carnitas, asada, Colorado chicken, shrimp, fish, and ceviches. Check out the specials for more authentic Mexican regional cuisine.
Fresh Agave has a superb happy hour from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. every day with a dizzying array of tequila mixed drinks, Mexican and domestic beer and cheladas. Prices are reasonable considering the large volume of the servings. They are set up for safe-distance dining and require a mask for entry.
