On Saturday May 2nd, there will be a GLOW IN THE DARK Run/Walk (1 mile/5K) beginning and ending at City Hall in Cathedral City.

If you have not participated in this type of event, what makes it event different is that the walkers and runners are doused in glow-in-the-dark paint as they make their way through the course.  Don’t worry about ruining your clothes or shoes – the paint washes away with a little soap and water.

Registration for this unique and fun event starts at 5pm with the 1 mile participants starting at 7:30pm with 5K participants starting an hour later at 8:30pm.

Once you hit the finish line, the fun begins!  Join your friends and supporters for an evening of fun.

A DJ spins music for you to dance or listen to while vendors keep you fed and entertained.

Food vendors include Maui Wowi Hawaiian Smoothies, Que Mami Organics Mexican, PaleoUrth SuperFoods, Daniel’s Creperie, Ricky Wright BBQ, RAWation power bars, Scooter’s Italian Ice, Gorilla Cookie and many others.

Additionally, there will be a cooking demonstration, health screenings, dental screenings, exercise demonstrations and educational ideas from Red Dragon Karate, Desert Ice Castle, Fitness1440, InShape, My Fitness Studio, Mayfield College, Kaplan College, Cathedral City High School, Infant Swim, CV Link, Humana, Desert Cancer Foundation, Borrego Health, United Cerebral Palsy, Desert Regional and many others.

So how do you participate?  To walk or run, register at www.healthglo5k.com.  Otherwise, come on down, cheer them on and enjoy a fun evening with your friends and neighbors.
