On Friday, February 20, 2026, the High Desert will transform into a sonic and visual sanctuary as the historic Booth House in Twentynine Palms hosts “AcoustiQuest 2026.” This magical evening promises a rare, intimate performance by Los Angeles-based visionary Micah Nelson, performing under his moniker Particle Kid. Set against the backdrop of a 100-year-old gold mill property, the event offers more than just music; it is a raw, unplugged journey featuring live water cymatics and visuals by SisterLu, creating an immersive atmosphere for “living things only.”

The venue itself adds a layer of rustic mystique to the night. Located just three miles from Joshua Tree National Park, the Booth House is a nearly twenty-acre property stewarded by artistic owners Dustin and Karen Otterbach. With its inspiring landscapes, original barn, chapel, and historic artifacts, the location creates a unique setting that feels worlds away from the ordinary—a perfect match for Nelson’s boundary-pushing creativity. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., inviting guests to explore local vendors and soak in the desert twilight before the music begins.

Beyond the art and music, “AcoustiQuest 2026” carries a compassionate mission: supporting the Palms N Paws Animal Rescue. A silent art auction will be held throughout the evening, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase one of only 20 limited-edition posters featuring original artwork by Particle Kid, with a portion of sales donated directly to the rescue. The event kicks off with a special adoption hour from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., where guests can meet adoptable dogs like Sally (Luna), Drew, and Wonderpup, potentially finding a new furry family member right at the show.

The musical lineup is anchored by Micah Nelson, a multi-media artist and composer hailed by Rolling Stone as a “creative visionary” and one of their “New Classics.” Known for his work as a member of Neil Young’s band Crazy Horse and for producing his father Willie Nelson’s album Last Leaf on the Tree, Micah’s output spans the creative spectrum. For this event, he brings his “raw and unplugged” sound to the stage at 8:30 p.m., following an opening set by Milo Gonzalez.

Supported by local sponsors including Bliss Cafe Joshua Tree, Joshua Tree Distilling Company, and Kitchen of the Desert, this event brings together community, creativity, and charity under the desert stars. Whether you are drawn by the allure of an intimate concert, the historic charm of the Booth House, or the chance to support local animal rescue efforts, “AcoustiQuest 2026” is set to be a memorable celebration of art and life in the High Desert.
