Palm Springs Pride Weekend is about to get even more fabulous with appearances by television actor and comedian extraordinaire Bob the Drag Queen, live at the Hotel Zoso with two shows on November 5 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
The alter ego of non-binary comic and actor Caldwell Tidicue, “Bob The Drag Queen” describes herself as “hilarious, beautiful, talented and…humble.” Bob’s unabashed confidence won the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, multiple acting roles for HBO, Netflix, Sony Tristar, MTV, and VH1. The third season of Bob’s Emmy Award nominate HBO Max series We’re Here is also coming out at the end of 2022.
Additionally, Bob is an accomplished stand-up comedian with two solo specials and a starring role in the recent Netflix comedy concert film Stand Out, executive produced by Wanda Sykes. Sibling Rivalry, Bob’s podcast with comedy partner Monet X Change, is now on its sixth season and is also hitting the road playing major venues in the United States and Canada in the fall of 2022 and winter of 2023.
“I am very excited for Bob the Drag Queen to come visit and perform for the people of Palm Springs. Bob really feels like the right fit especially for Pride. Not just because of their crown from RuPaul’s Drag Race, but their activism and spreading of love and connection on HBO’s We’re Here,” said Executive Director of Entertainment and Events at Hotel Zoso, John Pirroni.
Pirroni’s job entails quite a bit at the Hotel Zoso. He is involved from beginning to end in terms of the planning and show process—starting with talent negotiations all the way up to show execution and staffing. Pirroni deems it a lot of responsibility, but the payoff is worth every minute. Pirroni credits the venues at the Hotel Zoso to be a factor that separates the hotel from others in Palm Springs.
“The venues are really special and really beautiful. Hotel Zoso has venues that not only cater to different size crowds and atmospheres. They also cater to different types of talent and art, making it a really inclusive space for artists to create. What I love most about my job is making people happy. After all we went through with COVID, it is such a payoff to provide entertainment for people and see them happy, socializing and enjoying themselves,” stated Pirroni.
In addition to the shows by Bob the Drag Queen, the Hotel Zoso has an incredible weekend lineup planned, offering something for everybody. Pride Weekend will feature a tea dance pool party with drag legend DJ Lady Bunny kicking off the weekend. There will also be an all-live singing Drag brunch direct from Provincetown. Following Bob the Drag Queen performing two shows, there will be an Underwear Party sponsored by Andrew Christian and a Piano Bar night with live singing entertainment. Deven Green will be hosting and judging the “biggest” bulge competition at the underwear party.
The party starts as guests join DJ LADY BUNNY and a roster of special performers from across the country as Hotel Zoso begins the celebration with a Pride Kick-off pool party. Work up a sweat dancing to the hottest hits and take the plunge and cool off in the pool. Enjoy incredible beverages from our Zoso Pool Bar, or grab a Bite at the outdoor Zoso Grill. Stay for live entertainment throughout the day.

It has so many incredible venues within it and it could not be a better place to create a playground for all locals and tourists who are coming in for the weekend.
