The City of Indio, in partnership with the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC) and Indio Chamber of Commerce, will present the 2016 Indio State of the City Address on Tuesday, September 13 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Mayor Glenn Miller’s speech will focus on economic progress, upcoming projects and recent developments in the City of Festivals.
“The State of the City is a unique opportunity to communicate directly with local business leaders, lawmakers and community members,” said Mayor Miller, whose address will be presented in a seated, lunch-style format inside the state-of-the-art Fantasy Springs Special Events Center. “Indio has a great story to tell, and I’m extremely pleased to share the council’s vision for that next chapter.”
The theme of this year’s State of the City is “Indio Rising” and will be presented in a seated, lunch style format from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A free Business Expo will precede the mayor’s address at 9:30 a.m., with entrepreneurs and company representatives from across the Coachella Valley on hand to share services, distribute information and network.
“We want to promote business opportunities in Indio, particularly small businesses,” said Josh Bonner, GCVCC President and CEO. “The Business Expo is an ideal forum to learn about the multitude of resources available and make impactful connections within the community.”
The Business Expo is free to attend and open to the public. The Lunch Program is $49 for GCVCC members and $59 for non-members.
