The Mesozoic Era

Divided into three distinct periods, the Mesozoic Era, known as the Age of Dinosaurs, begins in the Triassic Period 230 million years ago when small ancestral semi-bipedal reptiles grew and diversified during the Jurassic Period and after 180 million years of successful living became the giants, we know of today. Due to a catastrophic meteorite impact on Earth in the area known as the Yucatan Peninsula, the Dinosaurs became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous Period more than sixty-five million years ago.
