In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Month, Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez has recognized Patrick Evans, Chief Meteorologist for KESQ News Channel 3 and host of Eye on the Desert, as the Fourth District’s Volunteer of the Year. The award celebrates Mr. Evans’s two decades of steadfast commitment to community causes throughout the Coachella Valley. “It is my pleasure to present the Fourth District Volunteer of the Year Award to Patrick Evans,” said Supervisor Perez at the ceremony. “Whether it’s a charity fundraiser, school event, or nonprofit board meeting, Patrick is always there, giving his time and talents without asking for anything in return. He exemplifies true community spirit.” After wrapping up his morning weather broadcast, Mr. Evans traveled to the county offices in Riverside to accept the honor. In his remarks, Supervisor Perez highlighted Patrick’s longtime involvement: • Serving on multiple nonprofit boards • Volunteering at local fundraisers and community festivals • Lending his voice and cooking skills to benefit charitable organizations • Raising awareness for causes through his television platform “Being able to support so many wonderful organizations across the Coachella Valley has been a real privilege,” Evans reflected. “My role at KESQ gives me visibility, and I’m grateful to use that platform to shine a light on the amazing work of our local nonprofits.
