POP-UP ALERT: ShareKitchen is pleased to host Akamai Ohana’s next Pop-Up dinner on Thursday, September 25th at 6:30pm. Chef Murakami and his new venture, Akamai Ohana, will be featured on the last Thursday of every month at ShareKitchen and while some of you may already enjoy Chef Murakami’s culinary skills at the sushi bar inside Kobe Steakhouse in Rancho Mirage, come support the Coachella Valley’s newest aspiring restaurateur as he explores and refines his own personal concepts and menus in our test kitchen, restaurant and bar.
This month’s dinner is a take on a few traditional and classic dishes featuring local, fresh seasonal ingredients selected by Chef Murakami himself:
A Beggars Purse: Guacamole wrapped in Jicama with Crispy Tortilla
Fisherman’s Stew- Seafood in a Tomato Broth with Persillade
Frisée and Soft Greens Salad with House-made Mustard Vinaigrette and House-Cured Beef
Roasted Chicken- Savoy cabbage, Turnips, Mushrooms, Green herbs and Shallow Chicken Broth
Faux-Lognese- A variation on a classic Bolognese with Merguez Sausage and Cuttlefish “noodles”
Kouign Amann- Flaky Pastry with Pastry Cream, Berries and Vanilla Apple Butter
