There’s something special about artists who don’t just play music, they live it. Marc Antonelli is one of those musicians who brings authenticity, grit, and heart to every note. A staple in the Coachella Valley music scene, Antonelli has carved out a reputation for blending soulful storytelling with a sound that feels both classic and fresh. Whether he’s performing live or crafting new material, there’s a raw honesty in his work that resonates deeply with listeners.
With roots grounded in passion and persistence, Antonelli’s journey reflects the spirit of independent music. He’s the kind of artist who understands that success isn’t just about the spotlight, it’s about connection, community, and staying true to your voice. From intimate venues to larger stages, his performances carry an energy that pulls audiences in and keeps them there.
CVW: What first sparked your passion for music, and when did you know it was more than just a hobby?
Antonelli: What first sparked my passion for music (and singing for that matter) was watching American idol and being particularly and completely inspired by Clay Aiken’s instrument of voice
I knew music and singing would be more than just a hobby when I was hired (after a brief audition) by the president and CEO of the Tropicana hotel and casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
CVW: How would you describe your sound to someone hearing you for the first time?
Antonelli: I would describe my sound to someone hearing me for the first time as being unique and extensively vast.
CVW: Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your style?
Antonelli: My biggest musical influence is David Foster who has completely shaped my style to what you hear and see today.
CVW: What’s your songwriting process like, do you start with lyrics, melody, or vibe?
Antonelli: My songwriting process starts with an empty canvas. The unknown of where the work is going (or not going) is what crafts the art that I create.
CVW: What’s been your most memorable live performance so far?
Antonelli: I have had the honor of experiencing many memorable live performances. Performances that instinctively come to mind are for David Foster as well as Andrea Bocelli.
CVW: How has the Coachella Valley music scene influenced your journey as an artist?
Antonelli: I believe it is of the utmost importance to continually be inspired by colleagues as well as family and friends. I am very fortunate and grateful to have an abundance of all of these here in the Coachella Valley. My hope is that in return, I am able to supply that same positive inspiration and influence on to others that the Coachella Valley has given me.
CVW: What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced as an independent musician?
Antonelli: The biggest challenge I have faced as an independent musician is the challenge of unconditional self-love. Through the ups and downs of this industry, I have found that the mindset and consistency of self-love, regardless of outcomes or outside influences continues to be a very beautiful reminder to never be down on yourself. Everything is a learning experience and an opportunity to grow upward.
CVW: What are you currently working on, and what can fans expect next?
Antonelli: For this answer I give you three simple words. Expect the unexpected.
CVW: If you could share the stage with any artist, past or present, who would it be?
Antonelli: My Hero, David Foster.
CVW: Where can fans find you?
Antonelli: My friends, future friends, colleagues and future colleagues can find me on Instagram (themarcantonelli) as well as Facebook (marcantonelli1) you can also consistently find me singing at Cork Tree restaurant in Palm Desert every Tuesday and Thursday 5:30pm-8:30pm and Chef George’s restaurant in Bermuda Dunes on Saturdays 6pm-8:30pm (reservations recommended).
Marc Antonelli represents the heartbeat of the local scene, dedicated, evolving, and unapologetically real. Keep your eyes (and ears) on him, because his story is still being written, and the best chapters are yet to come.
