Guess the Number of Black Stripes on the Baby Zebra
How many stripes does The Living Desert’s new baby zebra have? The public is invited to try their luck and take a guess.
The entrant with the closest hunch to the exact number without going over will win the Lucky Stripe contest grand prize: a private zebra tour at The Living Desert. This behind-the-scenes adventure will be made available for the contest winner and up to three guests.
Entry forms can be filled out and submitted online at www.livingdesert.org/lucky-stripe. The deadline for submissions is midnight, June 30, 2015. The winner will be notified by phone or by email within one week of the contest end date. In the case of multiple correct entries, the contestant who entered first will be declared the winner. The Living Desert volunteers and employees, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.
Grevy zebras are endangered in the wild and on April 20th The Living Desert welcomed the female foal born at the zoo. The Living Desert is an active participant in the Grevy Zebra Species Survival Plan®, which works in conjunction with zoos across the country to promote genetic diversity within the captive population and acts as a safeguard to wild populations.
