Mannequin Pussy is playing Pappy & Harriet’s on Friday, October 3rd, 2025. Splitting the difference between Indie Rock and Punk, the Philadelphia four-piece has been a going concern for 15 years.
Forming in 2010, Mannequin Pussy has gone through a couple of personnel changes. The current line-up includes Marissa “Missy” Dabice (vocals,guitar), Kaleen Reading (drums), Colin “Bear” Regisford (bass, vocals) and Maxine Steen (guitar). For live performances, they are augmented by multi-instrumentalist Carolyn Haynes.
Following two EPs, Bonerjamz! and Meatslave, their official full-length debut, Gypsy Pervert (later retitled Mannequin Pussy), arrived in 2014. From the jump, their sound see-sawed between urgent rave-ups, feral ferocity, scabrous assaults and tender intimacy. Their sophomore effort, Romantic, appeared two years later and their third, Patience was released in 2019 via the Epitaph label.
Their fourth long-player, I Got Heaven, was released in 2024 to rapturous reviews. Hailed as the perfect combo-platter of thrash and finesse. The record tackled themes of relationships, religion and aging.
