It is part of the human experience to crave validation from sources outside of self. When this craving is satisfied, it seemingly lends support to an inner understanding that collective humanity operates as a cohesive entity. Validation and recognition from others, in a way, help to remind us that we are an integral part of something bigger than ourselves. We are included and we are important contributors.

The idea of inclusion speaks to the underlying current of soul connectivity that drives all of us. Our souls resonate with unity, and guide us toward opportunities that have us connect with other souls and even our natural surroundings. However, when we pursue validation from external sources as a way to sustain connectivity with other souls and measure our value in the world, we suppress the guidance of inner spirit.

While inclusiveness and oneness with other living beings is the goal of inner spirit, it matters how we achieve it. External validation may initially spark remembrance of divine connectivity, but when we become dependent on it, ego takes the wheel while inner spirit slips into a coma in the backseat. The pursuit of validation is intoxicating to the ego, and eventually becomes the primary yard stick with which we measure our value in the world.

The only divinely truthful way to measure your contributions and value in the world though, is to do it from the inside out. An honest evaluation that takes place between you and your inner spirit, in the confines of your energy field, gives you all of the information you need. When you recognize the value of your contributions in this world based on these internal communications, you become your own source of validation. And while it may feel nice to receive appreciation from external sources, your spiritual value will never be dependent on the perceptions, evaluations, and opinions of others.

Your divine heritage ensures your inclusion with respect to collective humanity. You only have to breathe to contribute. When you make the choice to open further to divine guidance, set heartfelt intentions, and flow the energy of love to other living beings, your contributions are amplified.

If you have gotten caught in the loop of craving validation to measure your worth in this world, it could be time to give your ego a window seat in the back. Invite your inner spirit to take the wheel. Go inward with the aim to identify and recognize all that you have contributed to the world and to the souls around you. Make a list, and then give yourself a hug to validate your worth. You earned it!
