The twelfth and final qualifying week of the CV Open Mic Competition Summer edition 2015 entertained the large audience it brought! Schmidy’s Tavern in Palm Desert was packed with musicians trying to win the last qualifying spot in the upcoming Semi Finals. Fans cheered for the steep competition and DJ Alex Updike kept us groovin’ in between performances! After each performer gave it their best shot and the judge vote (50%) was tallied and added to the audience applause score (50%), it was The Classy Mother Fu?kers who pulled through and took home 1st place and $20 to Record Alley. Joseph and Jasyn, of the band, will now be moving on to one Semi Finals on 7/28 or 8/4. If they win there, they’ll compete in the finals 8/11 for a shot at a $500 trip to Las Vegas from Crater Lake Spirits, an Artist Development Workshop from Producer Ronnie King, and 8 hours of studio time plus a mix and master from JEM Productions. A very close 2nd place went to Trenches, who took home a one hour vocal lesson from KAM Studios. 3rd place was awarded to Shaman Rock who chose a $20 certificate to Record Alley.
