The first week of the Palm Canyon Roadhouse Acoustic Electric Guitar Challenge was success bringing 10 enthusiastic performances! Music at the Palm Canyon Roadhouse is nothing new as the venue boasts some of the longest running open mics in the Coachella Valley. By now adding the guitar challenge element, several new faces were brought in to be welcomed by the friendly and supportive atmosphere. Movie prizes from the Mary Pickford Theatre were given away to the liveliest of audience members, receiving keychains, t-shirts, and sunglasses. In the end it was Rey Guerra, a Roadhouse regular and security guard who was declared the first place winner! Rey took home 2 tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm from MIX 100.5 and earned a spot in the finals where he’ll compete for the grand prize of a 3 day, 2 night trip to Las Vegas from Crater Lake Vodka! A close second place was Zack Lindsay, another Roadhouse regular musician who chose to take home a movie ticket package from the Mary Pickford Theater. Third place was awarded to Marco Thoma who also decided on a movie ticket and concession package from the Mary Pickford Theater.
