The 38th edition of the Palm Springs Aerial Tram Road Challenge is set to take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, promising a scenic and invigorating experience for runners and walkers alike. This iconic 6K run and walk begins at the base of Tram Way and ascends to the Valley Station of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, climbing more than 1,900 feet over just 3.7 miles—a challenge that attracts fitness enthusiasts from across the region.
The race kicks off at 7:00 a.m., with walkers starting slightly earlier at 6:30 a.m. Registration is open now through race day, and participants will receive a special 2025 Tram Road Challenge T-shirt and a finishers’ medal to commemorate their achievement. A vibrant finish line festival awaits runners and walkers, featuring vendor booths and complimentary breakfast snacks to refuel after the climb.
Awards will be presented immediately following the race to the top three finishers in each age group who are registered in the Awards Eligible category, adding an extra layer of excitement and competition to the event. On race day, Tram Way will be closed until approximately 11:00 a.m., with the first tram car to the Mountain Station departing shortly after the road reopens.
