Renowned Joshua Tree artist Patrick Hasson announced today that his classic rock portrait series “1969” will open September 7th, 2024 at the Shafer Gallery in the newly-opened Hi-Desert Artists (HDA) Center in Yucca Valley, CA.  Patrick Hasson is a California-based artist known for his psychedelic and rainbow-infused ‘Dripping’ style portrait paintings.  “We’re so excited to host the newest series from artist Patrick Hasson,” quipped HDA Center Gallery Director, Karin Skiba, “the mind-blowing portraits of his 1969 series will be a refreshing jolt of color and energy to our Shafer Gallery.”

“1969” is a series of psychedelic portraits featuring the legendary musicians (Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, etc.) that made 1969 one of the greatest years in music history. “Patrick’s debut series (‘Desert Dudes’) was pretty phenomenal,“ states Desert Rock Legend Chris Goss, who’s portrait was featured in the series, “but what he’s done in his newest series (‘1969’) is really next level…his fusing of music, color and texture is really unlike anything out there.”  Opening reception for the show will be from 5-8pm on September 7th at the Shafer Gallery in the Hi-Desert Artists Center and will run until September 22nd.

Patrick Hasson lives and creates art in Joshua Tree, CA. Regarding his upcoming show, Hasson states “I am absolutely thrilled to have my ‘1969’ show at the Shafer Gallery in the HDA Center.  It’s such an amazing space and a great addition to the Hi-Desert arts community.”

The Shafer Gallery at the Hi-Desert Artists Center is located at 55635 Twentynine Palms Hwy, Yucca Valley, California, 92284.  The gallery is open Thursday through Monday from 12-6pm (12-3pm on Sundays), holidays excluded, and there is no admittance fee.  More information may be found online at hi-desertartists.com/exhibitions.
