Power starting pitcher Johnny Young started for the first time and went 5 innings, 2 strikeouts, 1 walk. Young along with the pitching staff tonight did great only allowing 2 runs on 3 hits.

Andrew Rivas, who came in to pinch hit for Tyler Nelson in the 7th, led the way offensively going 2-2 with 3 RBI’s.
After tonight’s game The Power will be playing in the CPCL playoffs for their chance to win another Championship.

Pitching Propels Power to Game One Victory
The Palm Springs Power took Game 1 of the CPCL Championship Series 3-1 on Saturday, July 19 against the Inland Valley Pirates, inching closer to a third consecutive league championship.
It was a masterclass performance on the road from the Power pitching staff. Kenny Keller, Chapman Weber and Isaac Quintero split the work on the mound for game one at Citrus College in Glendora.
Keller earned the start and allowed one run through four innings. Weber handled the next three innings and held the Pirates scoreless. As did Quintero, who came into the game in the eighth to shut the door with a six-out save.
Offensively, the Power benefited from timely situational hitting. Myles Walton drove in Austin Haller for the first run of the game with an RBI single in the third. Matt Chavez drove him in with a sac fly two batters later.
In the sixth, Walton knocked in Haller once again to push the score to 3-1. The Power were able to respond to the Pirates’ run in the bottom of the fourth, their lone run of the game.
