& Other Holidays Is Just One Part of Walter Clark Legal Group and American Cab’s “Home Safe” Program

Walter Clark Legal Group and American Cab are offering sponsored cab rides through their “Home Safe” Program for St. Patrick’s Day, a service they’re hoping many would-be DUIers will use.

From 10:30 pm – 3:00 am on Monday, March 17th, 2014, St. Patty’s Day revelers who have been drinking are encouraged to stay off the road and call for a free “Home Safe” ride from American Cab at 760.300.0000. A cab will be sent to their location to take them home to their residence in the Coachella Valley cities of Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio, and Coachella.

Staff at local bars and restaurants, and hosts of parties held at private residences, are urged to call a cab for any guest who is over the legal limit.

Knowing when a person is over 0.08% blood alcohol content (BAC) level can be difficult, though. To make determining BAC cut-and-dry, the two companies are proponents of making breathalyzers available in establishments that sell alcohol. That way, even guests who don’t feel intoxicated can test themselves before getting behind the wheel.

Walter Clark Legal Group and American Cab hope their “Home Safe” campaign gains more visibility with the cooperation of bar and restaurant owners and local law enforcement.

“By working together, we can really put resources behind this initiative and help to save lives by doing our part to keep drunk drivers off the road,” said Greg Klibanov, general manager of American Cab.

Their willingness to participate in pilot programs and how-to demos introducing preventative measures, like in-house Breathalyzers, could save many lives.
