Spring Break is fast approaching and the state-of-the-art Palm Desert Aquatic Center (PDAC) will celebrate with extended hours and services from March 22 – 30. It’s the perfect place to splash into year-round fun in the sun with family and friends from across the valley. The swim center has American Red Cross trained lifeguards on duty during all swim hours and a variety of play features designed to delight water lovers of all ages.
PDAC is an 8-acre facility that includes a heated 50-meter Olympic-sized pool for hardcore swimmers; a recreation pool with a zero depth entry, and two large water slides that are exciting to ride for all who meet the 48 inch height requirement; three-meter and one-meter diving boards for some added fun; and a splash playground that fits the needs of families with younger children.
Of course snacks are a necessity when spending the day in the water! PDAC doesn’t allow outside food on the premise but the concession stand sells combo meals, assorted drinks, various snacks, and even the very popular sno cones! Three large shade structures and numerous picnic tables are available to give you the perfect picnicking experience.
The swim center will maintain regular operating hours during Spring Break from 5:30 a.m. to 8p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. However, PDAC will include the additional benefit of diving boards, water slides and children’s play areas being open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., for all day fun, during this special spring break week.
Palm Desert Aquatic Center is reasonably priced and open all year round. It’s located at 73751 Magnesia Falls Drive in Palm Desert. For admission prices and programs offered throughout the year go to their website www.pdpool.com or call (760) 565-7467.
