Located inside the Spotlight 29 Casino, the Taproom 29 invites you into a circular bar populated with big screen TV’s and an in-house brewer. The menu is varied and what you might expect in a sport bar/microbrewery. There are 29 beers on tap served in frosty mugs lined up on a strip inlaid into the bar surface and is kept at a constant 29⁰ to keep beverages icy cold. Congratulations on a gimmick that makes sense!

I sat at the 360⁰ circular bar and chatted with the bartender asking for recommendations from the menu. I ordered the burger and fries. The burger had an excellent beefy flavor and was moist without being greasy. The fries arrived piping hot and perfectly crisped. They recently added an authentic clay pizza oven to diversify and expand their menu.

Taproom 29 offers some enticing affordable weekly specials: twin lobster tails for $24.95, Tuesdays from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m., prime rib dinner, $24.95, Wednesdays from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m., and filet and lobster tail, Fridays from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m.

For dessert, the butter cake served with Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream and berry compote earns high marks from customers.

The Spotlight 29 Casino has blossomed into a top tier entertainment destination since dissolving their management contract with Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts in 2004. Their outdoor concert venue, modernized gaming, and upgraded restaurants have created a momentum worth following.
