As the desert landscape begins its shift towards spring, The Roost Revue invites audiences to embrace the radical power of small actions for a very special season finale. On Wednesday, March 18 at 7 p.m., The Roost Lounge will present “The Roost Revue – Make Just a Ripple,” an intimate cabaret evening exploring the intersection of song and the inevitable change that comes with the turn of the season.
Curated and hosted by Jason Mannino, The Roost Revue is now celebrating its eighth incredibly successful month. This installment also marks a significant milestone: this will be the final Revue of the season, as the series takes a brief hiatus before resuming in mid to late summer.
Make Just a Ripple draws a direct line between the onset of Spring and the spark of activism. Just as a single bud signals the end of winter, a single voice can signal the start of a movement. The evening explores how our intentional ripples of love, storytelling, and song radiate outward to transform our community.
“Spring is a season of uprising,” says Mannino. “It’s the earth’s way of saying that change is coming, whether we’re ready or not. Make Just a Ripple is about realizing that change doesn’t always start with a roar; it starts with the courage to be the first drop in the water. As we close out this phenomenal first chapter of the Revue, we want to celebrate the small, persistent acts that ultimately change the tide.”
Featured guest performer Jerome Elliott is known for his “signature wit and deep emotional range” (Cabaret Scenes). Over the past two decades, he has entertained Desert audiences at Michael Holmes’ Purple Room, The Arthur Newman Theatre, and the Palm Springs Cultural Center, in addition to national
performances in New York, Chicago, and Saint Louis. Elliott is also the Artistic Director of Desert Ensemble Theatre Company.
The night will also feature special appearances by Heather Joy and Linda Ceniceros, members of the cast of The Bent’s upcoming first musical production, A Man of No Importance—a story that centers on the quiet bravery of being oneself in a world that demands conformity.
Ultimately, The Roost Revue – Make Just a Ripple reminds us that progress is not always a flood—it is a series of intentional drops in the water. Join us for this final seasonal showcase as we honor eight months of music and community before our summer return.
