What a finale it was for the Fall/Winter Grand Finals of the Open Mic Competition at the Tilted Kilt on Wednesday December 17th. 12 finalists put on their best performance for an absolutely packed house and to impress judges Jack Broady from RR Braodcasting, Matt Jones from Guitar Center, Kathy Schriefer from Crater Lake Vodka, Gregg Aratin from Mix 100.5, Producer Ronnie King of Ronnie King Music, Ted Hane from the Mary Pickford Theatre, DJ Chase Martinez from Jammin’ 99.5, and popular musician Kyle Paras. While scores were being tallied and triple checked, last sessions winners, The Classy Mother Fu?kers played a set to keep the crowd going. It was as close as can be between first and second place, yet in the end it was inspirational singer/songwriter Lt Will Kelly who took home the first place title and was awarded a $500 shopping spree at Guitar Center + 3 days/2 nights in Las Vegas from Crater Lake Vodka + an artist spotlight article in Coachella Valley Weekly + An entire weekend recording session with Producer Ronnie King at his Chateau Relaxo to produce a mastered “Radio Ready” track (valued at $10,000).
