Verse Immersive, the award-winning augmented reality experience that has captivated audiences across the country since 2019, has officially launched at the Mary Pickford Theatre, part of the D’Place Entertainment family, marking a groundbreaking first: the integration of a large-scale AR attraction inside a movie theater.

The launch weekend was a resounding success with sold-out shows and has continued to draw high demand during peak hours throughout the month. In its first 30 days, over 1,100 guests stepped into the digitally-enhanced realms of Verse Immersive, exploring fantastical environments, solving puzzles, and blasting asteroids—all within the physical footprint of the iconic Palm Springs cinema.

“We’re thrilled to bring Verse to Palm Springs,” said Connor Anderson, Vice President of Partnerships for Enklu / Verse Immersive. “Partnering with D’Place marks a major milestone in making immersive entertainment more accessible. Theaters are cultural hubs, and integrating AR here redefines what a night at the movies can be.”

Since 2019, Verse Immersive has operated in family entertainment centers and standalone mall locations, where it has built a loyal following for its interactive holographic worlds, social gameplay, and high throughput design—ideal for group outings, families, and adventure seekers of all ages.

Now, for the first time, Verse is being offered alongside traditional film programming. The Mary Pickford Theatre teases moviegoers with a pre-roll preview before select showings, inviting them to explore the universe beyond the screen.

“It was a fabulous experience—the colors and virtually it was beautiful. Blowing up asteroids was fun,” shared one delighted guest. “Can’t wait to come back and experience the ones we didn’t do this time!”

“Verse is a perfect fit to our mission to bring exciting and entertaining experiences to our community and finding ways to keep the Mary Pickford Theater one of the premier destinations in the Coachella Valley.”  Explained Damon Rubio, President of D’Place Entertainment the current operator of the Mary Pickford Theater.

With its debut at D’Place, Verse Immersive continues to evolve the future of entertainment—blending cinema, gaming, and art into unforgettable mixed-reality experiences.
