Every day, the news seems to get weirder.  RFK Jr, the noted anti-vaxxer, is slated to lead Health and Human Services in the next Trump Administration.  Even odder, alleged pedophile Matt Gaetz is slated to run the Justice Department.

In Sweden, Gender Equality Minister Paulina Brandberg, has a problem with bananas.  This bananaphobist has staff sweep offices in advance of meetings to insure that the yellow fruit is not present.

A mother and daughter, Sherrie and Emily Edwards, were recently in court over felony child abuse of their 1- and 2-year-old children.  The children suffered from broken bones, bite marks and burns while testing positive for fentanyl.  When the police questioned the pair over the injuries to the children, they blamed it on evil spirits contacted through a Ouija board that caused the children to have nightmares along with multiple injuries.

A pizzeria in Dusseldorf, Germany was shut down after the owner was arrested for including bags of cocaine with Pizza No. 40.  Officers seized 3.5 pounds of cocaine and nearly $300,000 in cash.  As the police entered the business, the manager threw two bags of cocaine out the window…and into a police officer’s arms.

Over in Greece, 28-year-old man was arrested last month and sentenced to a one-month prison sentence.  His crime was sneaking into homes at night to sniff the shoes of the inhabitants.  The judge sentenced him to a one-month prison term that was suspended so long as he discontinues the odd behavior.

While cannabis is legal in California, it is not in many other parts of the country.  In Ohio, the Sharonsville Police received a call from a distraught resident who was accusing two police officers of stealing 4 grams of cannabis from him.  In his 911 call, the aggrieved stated that he and his wife had been staying in a hotel overnight.  While they slept, two police officers came to their room investigating a noise disturbance and took the weed. Somehow the caller and his wife slept through the entry into their room.  According to police, no such event ever happened.

A woman living in Kitsap County, Washington called 911 over an odd stalking situation. She was forced to flee her home after 50 to 100 raccoons came to her house looking for food.  It seems that she had been feeding a racoon family on her property for decades.  Roughly six weeks prior to the 911 call, more raccoons started visiting her house.  Raccoons started to get more aggressive as their numbers grew.  The local fish and wildlife officers suggested that she stop feeding the animals – advice she followed.  The problem cured itself after a few weeks.

Last week, The Miners & Sons, a local rock bank in Ontario, Canada set a Guiness World Record when playing a concert deep inside of Kidd Mine. At 1.5 miles below sea level, this is the deepest inside the earth that a concert has ever been performed.  The highest location a concert has ever been held was in January 2023 when Tatiana Stupak played on Mount Aconcagua in Argentina.  Stupak played at an elevation of 4.16 miles or 22,000 feet.  At that high of an elevation, air pressure and oxygen levels are 30% less than we typically experience.

In other music news, 1,000 mariachis played in Mexico City’s main plaza.  According to Guiness World Records, the record holder is an Indian film director, Pritam, when he assembled 1,000 musicians for a scene in the movie, “The Forgotten Army” in January 2020.

President-elect Donald Trump is generally recognized as one of the most litigious people in the world with more than 4,000 lawsuits.  This is a mix of lawsuits against him and countersuits that he has filed.

Jonathan Lee Riches was recognized by Guiness World Records for having filed more than 4,000 lawsuits.  Riches sued Guiness for recognizing him as the most litigious person.  The lawsuit was thrown out by the courts.
