The 2024 Indio International Tamale Festival is just around the corner, happening on December 7-8, 2024, from 10 AM to 7 PM. This will be a fun-filled weekend with a wide variety of tamale vendors, offering delicious flavors from across the region. NON-PROFIT SPOTLIGHT: COACHELLA VALLEY RESCUE MISSION

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM), a nonprofit that supports families in need, invites the community to its Annual Toy Drive and giveaway. This event is open to the public and is a wonderful opportunity to spread joy and make Christmas unforgettable for children in our community. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The City of Indio will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, December 14th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. brought to you by Riverside County. Commercial waste will not be accepted.

Acceptable items:

– Used motor oil and used oil filters – Antifreeze and hydraulic fluids – Aerosol cans – Batteries (personal, car, dry cell) – Paint (latex, oil), flammables/caustic bases – Corrosive acids – Poisons – Fertilizers – 4 ft. and 8 ft. fluorescent light tubes – Mercury vapor CVLs – Pool chemicals – Medication (controlled substances cannot be accepted)

Non-Acceptable Items:

– Business/non-profit waste – Containers larger than 5 gallons – Ammunition – Radioactive waste – Explosives

*All participants MUST remain in their vehicles.*
