For those interested in gaining firsthand knowledge of the music industry process, applications for the 2014 Futurenomic Resources Arts Program are now available. Established in 2003, the program provides college students and individuals interested in music careers the opportunity to work as full-time F.R.I. staff members. “Although it’s an internship for 11 months, the work experience is priceless,” said F.R.I.’s Creative Director and Music Producer Adon Icon.

“Our interns are in a unique position to work in the non profit sector, and the music industry at the same time, learning from industry insiders how to benefit the arts community.” Icon said.

Associates are responsible for helping to develop sponsorship proposals, project development, music licensing, marketing and publicity.

“Basically, the associates train on the job,” Icon said. “They really get a well-rounded non profit music business experience.”

Applicants must graduate from college by June 2016, and there is no preferred major. Those with advanced degrees or in mid-career are also encouraged to apply, Icon said.

Applications are available in F.R.I.’s office at 14080 Palm Dr., Suite D-4, Desert Hot Springs, CA or visit online at www.futurenomic.org.
