“Every experience, whether we view it as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, provides an opportunity for growth.” Gratitude + Forgiveness X (LOVE) = Happiness, by Aimee Mosco and Donald L. Ferguson, page 66.
We learned the most from uncomfortable experiences in the old paradigm. Discomfort was unwelcomed, but at the same time a powerful, yet unlikely teacher. It had a way of inspiring us to explore the things that happened in life in a different way and with a new perspective. Whenever we viewed life events from multiple vantage points, we saw things that we could not have seen without wandering outside our usual zone of existence. An expanded view opened the door to soul growth on many different levels.
Mental, emotional, and physical pain have all served as strong motivators. So, when you were feeling ill at ease, you would likely look for an exit from that state. You would quest to find answers, solutions, and actions that would alleviate the pain. On your quest, you opened yourself to ideas and information that when integrated or applied with creativity, helped you to change your state of being. Your consciousness may not have expanded in such ways if you were not motivated to seek.
As collective humanity now moves into the new paradigm, you can choose to explore a growth opportunity at the first sign of discomfort, or in some cases, in advance of discomfort. When you get the message and integrate the full spectrum of learning, the pain serves no useful purpose to your soul anymore and the healing begins.
Chasing down soul lessons is a proactive approach versus a reactive one. When you take no action but wait for disaster to strike and then clean up the mess, you deny your creative power. Being proactive is an expression and acknowledgement of your power. It requires that you intentionally exercise heightened awareness, which can be challenging, but well worth the effort. The benefits of building this muscle include minimizing the magnitude and duration of discomfort, and expediting soul growth.
While pain and discomfort are not welcomed guests, they served as potent teachers in the old paradigm. As we ready ourselves to enter the new paradigm where heighted awareness and empowered creatorship are the new standards, it is important to offer gratitude to our old teachers in recognition of their value, but it is most appropriate to let them go. Suffering no longer holds the power it once did.
