Women try Keto They fall in love with it. They finally lose the weight. They feel better and have more energy. They start to love themselves inside and out. Life is different. There is a newfound confidence that is noticeable. They express more femininity, stop unhealthy emotional eating patterns, find their happy place, and have a peaceful mindset about food.

However, after a while it’s common that they get bored and start craving other foods that aren’t Keto. Their confidence wanes and they start to feel off balance. This is perfectly natural and it happens for many reasons but here are the most common challenges I’ve seen with hundreds of clients.

1)  Stalls – can’t lose weight and feel stuck

2)  Staying with Keto when life gets crazy and stressful – managing stress and mindset

3)  Boredom with food choices – in a rut and eating the same Keto foods over and over

4)  Managing cravings – cravings are winning, and confidence is weakening

5)  Managing Social events – the desire to fit in can be stronger than the desire to stay true to yourself

Can you relate to any of these? Keto isn’t difficult but it does need nuancing from time to time.  These challenges seem like roadblocks, but they are little keto “speed bumps” that can be managed or avoided.  I’ve yet to find a Keto problem or challenge that doesn’t have a solution. We all have our difficulties every day. We all have doubts. We all sabotage ourselves. We all feel selfish and want what we want no matter what. It’s important not to give up yet how do we go on when we feel stuck, discouraged and impatient? We need proven diet hacks and tools, a  Keto friend, a go-to recipe, a coach to talk to and proven mindset techniques to move beyond these temporary challenges.

Always be prepared. If you always have keto products in your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer your chances of Keeping it Keto greatly increase. If you get in your car and drive to get ice cream that’s another Keto challenge that would need to be addressed!

Pick a few recipes and double them and freeze. The more grab and go foods you have on hand the easier life gets and you’ll be cooking less and eating foods you love.  Cooking less makes Keto life more manageable.

Eat more food that you LOVE. Keto isn’t a diet of deprivation.  It’s not like any other weight loss program you’ve tried that limits calories and portions.  We don’t count calories or portions.  It’s such a freedom to eat until we are comfortably full then we stop.  There are endless delicious recipes online. Eat foods you love so you look forward to every meal.

Fat and protein are your friends on keto. While fat is a cornerstone of the keto diet, protein will help keep your blood sugar stable and keep you full. If you’re experiencing cravings, it may be that you’re skimping on one of these two essential Keto staples. When in doubt, especially in the beginning, make sure to have plenty of healthy fat and high-protein snacks and foods available if cravings hit.

Drink more water. Up to 100 ounces a day. Especially in the desert! Water isn’t retained as inflammation like we’ve been programmed to believe.  It flushes the fat cells out.  Drink Up!
