When you think back on your High School Prom, was it everything you dreamed it would be? Well then, you’ll be happy to know you can come and relive it this New Year’s Eve. If it wasn’t, come and get your do-over at Big Rock Pub. We’ll be “Donging” in the New Year in 1980s Neon Prom style with 80’s pop synth band, Long Duk Dong. Corsages, boutonnieres, teased hair, bubble bangs, will be captured in prom photos. Party favors, live music and midnight toast are all included in your ticket purchase. This is going to be the FUNNEST NEW YEAR’S…LIKE…EVER!!! Warning: The punch will most definitely be spiked.
The band rocking the celebration is our desert’s own favorite, award winning 80s tribute band, Long Duk Dong. These 6-time winners of the Coachella Valley Music Awards, fronted by Chelsea Sugarbritches (Best Female Vocalist, Best Front Woman) and Nicco Ysiano, nominee for Best Male Vocalist, will take you back to one of the most creative and wild times in music history. Wear your best neon prom dress and matching tuxedos, or be a rebellious duo and come as your favorite 80s bad boy and girl! We’ll have a photo booth ready for you. We even have a discounted hotel suite and hotel shuttle set up so you can…you know – do whatever kids do after prom.
Big Rock Pub is celebrating its third New Year’s Eve after opening November of 2016. If you haven’t been there yet, this will be a perfect opportunity. New owner, Ken Hanna, poured a lot of love and rock memorabilia into the venue inspiring awe and good times over the past two years. In keeping with its salute to the music of our time, the menu covers are record albums purchased from our desert’s own Record Alley in Palm Desert, a shop that has survived all the changes the music industry has thrown at them. And this may sound weird, but you really do need to see the bathrooms. They are amazing. The venue has a state of the art sound and light system run by award winning Jeff Mazur who also happens to be in the band. All of this looks over the beautiful 18th green of the Big Rock Golf Course at Indian Springs, also owned by Hanna.
Tickets are already selling fast, but fortunately, we have a large heated patio where you can view and hear the stage on several TVs and speakers. A few VIP tables complete with table service are available. Doors open for New Year’s Eve seating at 7 pm. We’ll be taking this party into the wee hours of the morning! The patio and outside bar will also be open, and the firepit will be roaring. The weatherman says it’s going to be a “totally bodacious” night.
