It’s that special creepy time of year when thoughts of witches, vampires and ghosts fill the imagination and ghouls come out to play. And if you live in the Coachella Valley, it’s also when the most anticipated party of the year takes place; FEARTASTIC presents BB Ingle’s Annual Halloween Bash!
BB’s parties are legendary, and have been entertaining desert party goers for decades. His Halloween parties in particular are enormously popular, giving attendees the chance to shed their everyday persona and dress up as whatever they want to for a night of decadent freaky fun. His parties are epic, and bring people from not only the desert area, but all over southern California to attend. Last year’s event, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center was enormous, bringing out well over 5,000 people to play. The costumes ranged from the demur, to the over top, with even a full-fledged Genie cruising around on his very own magic carpet willing to take pictures with anyone that would ask. You can probably find just about any costume at BB’s party; it is a coveted event that people look forward to, an event that stimulates all the senses.
BB must have been born to bring people together, starting his career as a leader in social gatherings back in the 80’s when he and a few others founded BB Obrien’s Sports Bar. The night spot was a constant in desert nightlife, and after its closure, Ingle began throwing special holiday/event parties earning him the Master of Events and the Godfather of Parties title that he has today.
This year BB’s 29th Annual Halloween Bash, Monster Rock takes place on Halloween night, Thursday October 31st, and is in partnership with Kim Waltrip of TROUPE Productions to kick off their FEARTASTIC Horror Film Fest. The 3 day event will showcase 5 frightening films at the Camelot Theatre with a kick off MONSTER ROCK HALLOWEEN PARTY at the newest hotel addition to Palm Springs, the Hard Rock Hotel in downtown. The Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs boasts all of the flash and glamour affiliated with the famous chain. Amenities at the new venue include swanky lounges (lobby & poolside), incredible dining, spa services and hip luxury accommodations all dripping with the cool vibe that is part of the Hard Rock brand.
BB was approached by Waltrip to partner up for the Halloween extravaganza, making the party the kick-off for the FEARTASTIC Horror Film Fest. It seems like a natural alliance, as BB oozes Halloween fun and the film fest is all about having a scary good time. Coupled with the fact that the Hard Rock Hotel, which started back in 1971, sets its goals on bringing people together to partying up a storm, it’s a shared goal that BB has been an advocate of all along, “I’m excited to have my big bash at the Hard Rock,” he shared. The Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs and BB’s Monster Rock Bash is a perfect match!
The mega party will be spread out around the hotel, incorporating the elaborate underground ballroom, and poolside area. Entertainment includes heart pumping music from DJ’s, Ray Phillips, James Gonzalez, Aaron C, Ceasare, JF//Discord, Jeff Ferguson, Nate Campbell, Tommy O’Connor plus others. There will be a live Monster rock music show performed in the ballroom, with food stations and of course, plenty of bars to accommodate thirsty hell raisers. The Monster Rock Bash will also have a costume contest, sponsored by Fox 11, giving away a total of $1,000 in cash to winners dressed up as their favorite Fox 11 character.
The party goes from 8pm to 2am and guests must be 21 or older to enter. Tickets are priced at $40 per person for general admission, $50 at the door. There are VIP tickets available for $100 and include VIP SEATING, 2 drink tickets and munchies.
Halloween has long been a holiday for kids to dress up, knock on stranger’s doors and extort candy (give me a treat or else). But the holiday has evolved into a much needed adult break from reality as well. It’s a night of fantasy, scares, dares, tricks and treats. And for us living in the desert, we have been lucky to have the “Pied Piper” of parties in our midst to throw exciting; edgy Halloween Bash’s every year. With BB’s Monster Rock at the Hard Rock Hotel in Palm Springs this year, it is certain that there will be plenty of treats for us all….and maybe a scary trick or two. Happy Halloween!
