Multi-City Regional Organization Includes More Than 1,200 Members
The newly formed Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce (GCVCC) has selected Joshua Bonner as its President and CEO, it was announced today. Bonner held the same position with the Indio Chamber of Commerce prior to the formation of the GCVCC, which merged the cities of Coachella, Indio and La Quinta, as well as the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and Cabazon Band of Mission Indians.
“This was an easy decision given the strong leadership displayed by Josh over the past few years in Indio,” said GCVCC Vice Chair/Search Committee Chair Jill Tremblay. “His enthusiasm, tenacity and ability to unite competing agendas for a common purpose make him ideally suited to lead this important valley-wide organization.”
The Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce will create a broader base for partnering and networking opportunities, such as including rotating community events and mixers. While merging, existing chamber offices and visitor centers will remain open with a manager for each location. The adopting of bylaws and other staff appointments are expected to be completed by July 1, the start of the next fiscal year.
“It’s an honor to be selected to lead the new regional chamber,” said Bonner, a Coachella Valley native. “Our 1,200-plus members took a bold step when they decided to forge the first multi-city regional chamber in our valley, something that had been long discussed. In doing so, they, along with our Board of Directors, have set a clear vision for the future of a strong business community that is well positioned to drive economic growth for our entire valley. Our team is eager to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
