Thursday, April 4th, 7pm @ The Hood Bar

What do you get when you put the son of a Greek goose herder, a Chinese acrobat and the grandson of a Russian migrant farmworker in one room with a drummer? Pictures from Eden, that’s what! At least that’s how these self-abasing, immensely talented musicians paint themselves on their website Picturesfromeden.com. I, on the other hand, would describe this tribe of players as one of our desert’s top, original alternative rock bands. These guys deliver decidedly positive, uplifting messages of compassion and hope with clear, pure vocals, powerfully steady rhythm and epic explosions of guitar that have a tendency to make one stop breathing. My opinion was shared by many who witnessed their last show at the Date Shed when they opened for The International Swingers.
Pictures from Eden’s next adventure will not only further expose their talents and music, but will be doing so in order to benefit a fantastic charity , BIG HORN Behind A Miracle. This charity, also known as BAM, was founded by a collection of amazing people at Big Horn Country Club, and is dedicated to providing critical funding needed to help in the diagnosis, treatment, research, services and education for those affected by breast cancer. BAM’s recent donation of 2.3 million was instrumental in the purchase of state-of-the-art breast cancer technology at Eisenhower Medical Center.
Inspired to save the lives of Coachella Valley cancer patients, BIGHORN BAM raised $1 million during their recent five month long fundraising campaign, culminating in 2.56 million raised in just five years. “BIGHORN Behind a Miracle has proven to be exactly that… a true miracle!” shares chairwoman Selby Dunham. “We are so proud to benefit Eisenhower’s first class facility as well as the genuine efforts that The Pendleton Foundation exhibits to cancer patients who are truly in need. The generosity of the Bighorn members, their guests and friends is truly extraordinary. Without the enthusiasm and energy of so many volunteers and committee members, none of this would have been possible.”
These efforts will continue at this free concert at The Hood Bar and Pizza located at 74360 Hwy 111, Palm Desert. The music, food and merriment will be commencing at 7 pm, Thursday, April 4th. There just may not be a more celebratory, fun way to support a charity that aims to cure a very serious disease. For more information regarding the charity, to join or volunteer call (760) 610-8218 or go to www.bighornbam.com.
