The Coachella Valley Association of Governments’ Green for Life program is hosting a FREE Green Building Bus Tour on October 9th from 10:30am to 5:00pm as part of this year’s Southern California Energy Summit. The Green for Life tour will showcase a variety of sustainable properties throughout the Coachella Valley and feature educational demonstrations on the various ways to save energy and money! Architects and contractors will on hand to answer questions about green design features and improvements. CV Upgrade, Ygrene and utility representatives will also present to discuss financing options and rebates. Bus tour attendees will be provided with a complimentary lunch and may attend the Energy Summit welcome reception at the conclusion of the tour at 5:00pm.
On October 10th, Green for Life will host the “Growing a Sustainable Southern California” panel discussion as part of the SoCal Energy Summit. The 6th annual Energy Summit brings together over 600 industry and community leaders together to discuss trends, advocate for clean energy issue and highlight the region as the epicenter for renewable energy. The theme for this year’s Summit is “The Great Energy Debate: Beyond 33% & the Future of the Salton Sea” and features a wide array of keynote speakers that includes Tesla Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer JB Straubel, California Senate President pro Tempore-elect Kevin de León, Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D., Microsoft’s Director of Energy Darrell Smith and many more! #SCES2014 will feature educational sessions, keynote speeches, panel discussions and a exhibit hall of cutting-edge green technology and alternative vehicle test drives.
